Disney Treasure isn't the newest ship in the fleet anymore — that title now belongs to Disney Adventure, with Disney Destiny right behind it. But Treasure still holds its own as one of the newer, most in-demand ships to sail, and it's worth understanding where it actually fits in the lineup before you book.
Where Treasure sits in the fleet today
Newest to oldest, the current Disney Cruise Line fleet runs: Disney Adventure (debuted March 2026, based in Singapore), Disney Destiny (debuted November 2025), Disney Treasure (debuted December 2024), Disney Wish (2022), then the older Dream-class and Magic-class ships. Treasure, Destiny, and Wish are all part of the same Wish-class family of ships — same general hull and scale, distinct theming on each.
What's genuinely new about the Treasure
The Treasure shares its core architecture with the Wish but leans into its own adventure-and-exploration theming rather than the Wish's fairy-tale focus. Onboard, it carries several spaces adapted directly from the Wish — including the Hero Zone sports and recreation venue and the Wonderland and Never Land cinemas — alongside a Toy Story-themed water play area with a splash pool and family waterslide. It also has the Scat Cat Lounge themed to the Aristocats, the Skipper Society Lounge themed to the Jungle Cruise, and the Haunted Mansion Parlor (well) themed to the Haunted Mansion, of course.
Signature entertainment and dining
The ship's Walt Disney Theatre stages "Disney: The Tale of Moana," a Broadway-style production featuring a large Te Ka puppet and an original song written for the show, alongside other stage productions, including a Beauty and the Beast production. Like its sister ships, Treasure carries a mix of rotational dining, adults-only specialty venues, and immersive entertainment spaces reworked with its own adventure theming rather than a direct repeat of the Wish. On the Treasure, Coco is the theme of the rotational dining dinner theater.
How it compares to Wish, Destiny, and Adventure
- Vs. Disney Wish: Nearly identical scale and layout, with adventure theming replacing fairy-tale theming as the main difference.
- Vs. Disney Destiny: Destiny is the next Wish-class ship after Treasure, described by Disney as leaning into a heroes-and-villains motif — worth comparing if theming is your deciding factor between the two.
- Vs. Disney Adventure: A different class of ship entirely. Adventure is Disney's largest vessel to date, based in Singapore, and focused exclusively on short "Magic at Sea" sailings with no port stops — not a direct competitor to Treasure's Caribbean itineraries.
Should you book it?
Treasure remains an excellent choice if adventure-and-exploration theming appeals more than the Wish's classic fairy-tale atmosphere, or if Destiny's itineraries and dates don't line up with your travel window. It's no longer the newest ship in the fleet, but it's still one of the most in-demand.
