Disneyland had a busy week. A modest price increase hit on October 6, and on October 7 the Disneyland Resort rolled out changes to the Magic Key program that Magic Key holders have been asking for. Here is the breakdown.
The Magic Key changes (effective October 7, 2026)
Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino announced the changes in an email to Magic Key holders. Two stand out:
- The no-show penalty is gone. Previously, skipping a park reservation you made could count against you. That penalty has been removed.
- More flexibility with reservations. Magic Key holders can now modify or cancel park reservations until 11:59 p.m. Pacific on the day of the reservation.
Disney also noted it is including a Disney Dining Card with Magic Key renewals through May 26, 2027, and that new "Iconic Disneyland" Extras Unlocked offerings are coming in 2027. Details on those have not been released.
If you hold a Magic Key, this is a quality-of-life win. Plans change, kids get sick, flights get delayed, and being penalized for it never felt good.
The ticket price changes (October 6, 2026)
Disneyland's increase this year was described as the smallest in years. The overall one-day price range stayed the same, with increases landing on select middle tiers. Here is what we know:
- Multi-day, one-park tickets did not increase.
- The Park Hopper add-on went up for all ticket types.
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disneyland saw a small increase.
- Magic Key pass prices did not change.
Check Disney's official calendar for the exact price on your dates, because Disneyland uses a tiered system and the tier decides the cost.
It is still Halloween Time
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort runs through October 31, 2026. A few things to know if you are going this month:
- Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park is sold out for the entire season, and its final nights are this month.
- Haunted Mansion Holiday is part of the seasonal rotation, and "it's a small world" closes on October 30 to install its holiday overlay.
- Per current resort updates, Fantasmic! is running Friday through Sunday nights only in October.
So who benefits?
If you visit once a year, the Park Hopper increase is the main thing to notice. Decide whether you really need to hop, because it is now a more expensive add-on. If you are a Magic Key holder, the new reservation flexibility is the real news.
